I have a legal marriage license with my wife. That has been our legal position for 45 years. However, our relationship is much more than a legal position on paper.
Many abuse their legal marriage position by committing adultery, and even though they have the legal document that says they’re one with their mate, they cause great grief, pain, and strain on their intimacy and fellowship. Some even to the point of divorce!
Positional truths in Christ much like a marriage license, are real. Very real!
Guard against becoming so familiar with your legal position in Christ, that like the adulterer you use the comfort of that legal position to sin.
I have found that using positional truth as sins excuse; destroys my intimacy with God, making my fellowship with him shallow and superficial.
James 4:4 says, Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
