Guard Your Heart
Sep 21, 2023In the lust of sin, we fail to realize how it affects others
When King David committed adultery with Bathsheba, her husband, Uriah, was an honorable man. Because a battle was going on, as a good and honorable soldier, Uriah wouldn’t even go in and sleep with his wife; but during the same battle, King David the chief military officer was committing adultery with her.
Sin is blinding in that way.
Pride and arrogance are what lead to the lust of the flesh being fulfilled. This same pride is the blindness that fails to see the destruction sin brings to others.
Guarding our hearts against the subtlety of pride is the only way to guard against sin.
God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. Humility always preserves honor.
