Recently I was listening to a teaching by a nationally known minister that I enjoy listening to and he said something that shocked me. His statement was every good and bad thing that is in your life was put there by God and has been filtered by his love. WHAT??? James 1:17 says that every good and perfect gift comes from God. Notice that verse says every "good gift" comes from God "NOT" every good and bad thing comes from God. I would love to ask this guy if he would put anything bad on his children! "PLEASE DO NOT" think when you hear something like I heard that it is true regardless of who says it and how well they are known in the Christian community. God is GOOD and only gives us GOOD things and that will never change -  even if we do.
